My New Art Blog

Hey there,
I'm going to attempt to blog at least weekly. I am retired from teaching. Praise the Lord! I am now able to paint more often. My goal is to paint daily.
Scripture for this blog Jeremiah 29:11 " For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for evil to give you a future and a hope."
Just finished an oil painting of my Amaryllis. Love the coral against the blue. Check it out on my website art-by-bonnie.com.

Birds

I've focused painting birds for the last several month. I bought a hunter blind so I could photograph them at the bird feeders in my back yard. It didn't work very well; Any movement and the birds flew off. My brother-in-law has provided me with some awesome pictures. Thank goodness.

Why do I spend hours in my studio painting?

I paint because I believe in God and the eternal nature of man. Nature attests to the existence of a creative superior being. The desire within me to paint comes from my creator so I paint in worshipful obedience to my God.

Why do I paint?

I paint because I am awed by nature and happiest when I have a paint brush in my hand, and I am surrounded by birds, flowers, trees and water.

We have moved to Van, Texas.

We have a lake just out my back door. It is a dream come true. I have always wanted to live next to water. I thank God everyday for the beauty that surrounds me.
